24th ANNUAL NA PO'E PA'AHANA AWARDS

The awards luncheon was held at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.  This annual luncheon is hosted by the Hawaii's Lodging & Tourism Association and recognizes the hotel industries best.  Our very own Darlene was one of those recognized.  Janice Primak from the Kuhio Beach Grill won Food & Beverage Person of the year.

IT'S STARTING TO COME TOGETHER

We are starting to get it together.  Our color scheme will be slate blue and I even found dishes to match.  We are having fun setting up our new home.

53 ON THE RISE

The site of the old John Dominis Restaurant, this new restaurant has spectacular views.  The food was very good but extremely pricey.  Fine dining service that took more than two hours.  The highlight was the bathroom with the toilet seat cover that automatically rises when you enter the stall.  With heated seats, that's just classy.

PRE GAME BBQ

The food was great but the outcome of my New England Patriots was not so good.  I guess I have to switch to the Bronco's to win.

THE NEW HOME

The electricity got turned on so now we can see our new home.  With no furniture yet, Charles and I sat on the floor and had our first meal there. I love our stainless steel appliances.  We will be very comfortable here.

MAX'S OF MANILA

Couples night out again and this time we went to Max's of Manila.  I was pleasantly surprised with the taste.  Definitely worth the trip back.  Service was great and I even ran into some coworkers I knew at Ihilani.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

With my mother's stroke happening in 2013, I am so glad to see that year go.  I'm counting on 2014 being a great year.  I'm blessed with having a loving family, friends and my sweetie, Charles.  I pray for my mother's recovery so she can do all the things she enjoys.  May you all have a great 2014.

OSECHI RYORI

After six days of cutting, chopping, carving and cooking, I managed to make this year's Osechi Ryori.  Since my mother had a stroke, I wanted to keep the tradition going.  She was so happy and proud that she taught me well.  Her friends she invited were impressed as well.

IT'S "TIME" FOR A DAY AT THE SPA

I was showered with gifts this Christmas.  My honey got me this watch, Chanel perfume and a day at the spa.  I could get use to this pampering.
