We did it again! Over $8,000 and 2100 pounds of food. A big Mahalo to the associates and Zumba students. Your contribution was highly appreciated.

JDRF GOLF TOURNAMENT
The Waikiki Beach Marriott participated in the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation's 5th Annual Golf Tournament. My team with Russell and Stephen came in 23rd place out of 52 teams. It was for a good cause and we had fun. That's all that matters.

DAD'S 80TH BIRTHDAY
We had a surprise party for my dad's 80th birthday. We did an army theme with helmet centerpieces of herbs, camouflage decor and Cathy made the army cupcakes. I made the picture frames for the favors. Masayo and I had matching dresses and I made everyone dress in camouflage colors.

MANAGER'S OUTING
To keep with the celebration of appreciation, we had a dinner at Side Street Inn for the managers. This was to celebrate our successful first quarter.
ASSOCIATE APPRECIATION LUNCH
I had to scoop ice cream for the Associate Appreciation Lunch. Toppings galore! It was a great dessert to the prime rib lunch. Notice I was watching the Masters in between the scoops.

BUSTED UP
I have an one inch tear in my ligaments and the doctor gel in my bad knee. Such a bummer. Hopefully my knee will be pain free soon. The calf will take a while to heal. Zumba in the chair for me.

STUFFED PEPPERS
Here is my first attempt at making stuffed peppers. It was really easy to do. Just slice the tops of 6 green or red peppers (dice the extra for using in other recipes) and remove the seeds. Cut the bottom of the pepper so it stands straight. Brown ground beef or turkey with diced onions and garlic. Add one cup of cooked rice and one cup of tomato sauce. Stuff the peppers. Mix ketchup and brown sugar to make a glaze and top on the stuffed pepper. Cover with foil and bake for 10 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes or until pepper is tender.
