PASTA MAKING CLASS
I attended a pasta making class at Cookspace Hawaii with Chef Andrea Onetti from Italy. It was a lot of work mixing and cutting the dough by hand. Now that I know how to do it the hard way, I busted out my Kitchenaid mixer and pasta maker. So much faster. I can make a batch of pasta and freeze it.
We used 740 grams of "00" pasta flour, 300 grams of semolina flour and 10 eggs.

TURTLE BAY RESORT
I worked at the Turtle Bay Hilton from 1985 to 1990. So much has changed but some things stayed the same.
The Bay View beach.
This is Kahuku Terrace where I got married in 1989. Still the same.
The old Sea Tide Room where I had my wedding reception is now the fitness center.
STACATION AT TURTLE BAY
Charles and I had joined Tony and Cathy for a couples getaway at Turtle Bay. We golfed at the Arnold Palmer Course, had dinner at Chorros and just enjoyed the weekend.
The view from the golf course.

FRIDAY NIGHT FIREWORKS
For Ashlee's last night, we took her to the Hilton Hawaiian Village for dinner and fireworks. I'm going to miss that ball of energy. She's a wonderful lady with a good heart. Daddy's little girl.

SUNSET CRUISE
We took the ladies on a sunset catamaran cruise. It was a beautiful evening and calm cruise. Note: don't wear high heels on a catamaran because it's not stable.

KAAWA
We wanted to show the ladies how the locals hang out. They got into the music singing anything from Taylor Swift to Hawaiian music to Christian songs.
Little Ean fell in love with Ashlee. She wanted to take the little guy home.

WAIKIKI BEACH WITH THE LADIES
Ashlee, Kelli and Kelleah had a blast in Waikiki. The ladies are full of energy and reminds me of the fun I had in Waikiki 30 years ago.

LEGACY AWARDS
My boss received a Legacy Award from the University of Hawaii. We were invited to this $1000 per plate dinner which was a fundraising event for the university. Governor Ige was present as well as Governor Cayetano and Governor Ariyoshi. This 800 person gala raised quite a bit of money for the Travel Industry Management School.

HAWAII FOODBANK FOOD DRIVE
Once again I was Chair of the Hospitality Coalition for the Hawaii Foodbank. The Waikiki Beach Marriott exceeded our goals and donated over $10,000 and 2,000 pounds of food. It is such a worthwhile cause that helps so many of Hawaii's hungry.

EKIDEN HONOLULU MARATHON RELAY
The Waikiki Beach Marriott participated in the Ekiden Honolulu Marathon Relay. It's a 26 mile, 6 team marathon relay. We had 7 teams and Team Fuji came in 6th out 7 teams. One of my runners injured himself but he still finished. We met at 4:00 am so I was very tired the rest of the day.
ALAN WONG'S
I was treated to a dinner at Alan Wong's. I haven't been there in years and it still lives up to his reputation. The first course was his take on loco moco with mushrooms and fried prosciutto. The tomato salad looked like a sweet garden. The lobster dish was delicious but my favorite was his twice braised short rib. The pineapple shaved ice was a refreshing end to a wonderful dinner. It's definitely on my list of places to return.
